Locusts at Kabogor - Emining Ward
Residence of Kabogor in Emining ward- Baringo County saw a spectacular swarm of desert locust which had covered the sky descending from the slopes of Sirwa-Kapkein hills. It first touched down at Ngendui and Oinopsos almost blocking Ravine - Tenges road, before advancing to Kipsongol and chemutagar of Cheberen location and to Isanche, Kipswerer, sonochun, kamulat, kaptabarar and finally to kindonin before vanishing to kamalanget of Kabogor sub location and to other sides of lombala and Ngubereti.
The locust spent only 1hr in the area but left a traceable mark on trees and grass.
People followed step by step scaring them away and wondering of their eating nature of leaves and grass which left some trees leaveless within minutes.
The old ( kipkoimet and korongoro) said that the same locust visited the area in the early years of 60,s so to them it was history repeating itself.
To Kaplelach age set to Chumo, this was their first time to witness locust in their soil. They took pictures and videos for reference in several seasons to come.

Life's has been lost in the past in this river. The people of Kabogor sub location and Cheberen location applauds the peoples government of Baringo county through the office of Hon. MCA Paul Kibarar- Emining Ward.

The Greatest Challenge of our Time.
All weather road we need.
River perkera bridge we need.
The blessed valley alias 'Messopotamia' the land between two rivers, River Emining and river Perkera and seasonal river Esanda. The land whose products are ground nuts, millet, sorghum, small scale maize farms, goats, sheep and cows in small scale.
In the plains of river perkera irrigation is done. Water melons, peanuts, vegetables are produced .
The population is over 1000.
Facilities which serves the people include Kabogor Primary school, Kabogor Dispensary, Kabogor Trading centre. Kabogor cattle dip.
Scenic places include the great 'Koiba moso'( The stone of baboons),its the biggest stone seen at a distance of 6kms. Its spectacular. Its astonishing.
Others include 'Koimase' hill overlooking the great plains and 'Kitar' ranges with spectacular 'falling' stones arranged with stunning walls.
'Rokwonde' found along kitar ranges,a hole which use to host maumau fighters in 50s,but now its used by hyenas as their hide out.
'Kipkuchu' a cut between kitar ranges. Kipkuchu is the gateway to Kabogor alias messopotamia. Its here(Kipkuchu) where two roads leading to the plains connect,Kapmaritim, koitebes Kabogor road and Emining, kamalanget Kabogor connects. Both roads are impassable during rainy seasons. One cannot connect Emining or eldama ravine for life services due to lack of all weather road and bridges.

Leaders,How Long do You want us to Suffer?
Facts, yesterday we a team of over 30 residents of Kabogor had to respect the legendary routine of waiting this river for 4 hrs, from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm to reduce its water before we risk crossing with school children, mothers, and the elderly.
From Emining town to Kabogor is 15 kms.
There are two deadly rivers, River Emining and this giant Esanda river.
It has been the prayer of the community year in year out to political leaders both national and county, the former and current MPs, MCA and well wishers to help the over 1000 people who have no choice but to cross this giant rivers to access life services at Emining town, eldama ravine,Kabarnet and Nakuru. During any rainy season like this, its next to impossible to access any emergency service at the nearby towns due to this double edge blessing.
To make it worse The great Perkera river at the western part is impassable because No bridge has ever been thought by any leader or well wisher despite decades of requesting.
Our grand parents bleeded with former leaders of the old larger south Baringo former honourables like Lawi Kiplagat, hon. Kiptanui, hon. William Morogo, hon. Joseph kipkapto, current mp Hon.Hellen sambili but completely nothing has ever been done to bridge the community to the wider Kenya through building of bridges.
All county council councillors did nothing too to elevate the peoples pain, from Councillor Chepkuto who served for over 15 years as area Councillor but no bridge, Councillor Aser served for five years but nothing happened, the county government came in the year 2013 and the people of Emining ward elected Hon. Geoffrey Chelal who is the current serving MCA,did his best and erected a foot bridge at Emining river- on Emining -Kabogor road but yet still, yes if people crosses Emining and come and wait for four to five hours at Esanda river is yet still painful.
Not that alone if any medical emergency arise from this community(Kabogor) how can they be served yet no vehicle can access the community especially during this rainy seasons.
Thinking to access Ravine-Saos -Tenges - Kabarnet road River Perkera says No, thinking to access Emining health centre,River Esanda and River Emining say No. To worsened the situation, Kabogor - Emining Road is totally impassable during any rainy season.
Nyongi age set generation prayed for road and bridge but no leader heed
Chumo age set prayed for road and bridge but no leader heed.
Sawe ageset generation come prayed the same prayer to the leaders of then but no one heed.
Korongoro ageset generation come prayed the same prayer to leaders of then but no one heed.
Kipkoimet ageset generation followed the suit but no bridge,no better road yet.
Kaplelach ageset are here but will you help us?
Kipnyigey are on leadership door but will you bother us?
Nyongi generation are warming up for leadership,a total generation cycle, will you help us?
Why, how can this happen in this generation,
No No No. The community have lost expectant mothers along the road sides people watching helplessly, the sick have suffered the same axe of death a long the road side.
Who can be touched by by this?
Who is this leader who can have a different heart, who is this leader who can do what it takes to save the community.
No,this must end in this generation of leaders.
We can not accept leaders to take the community for a ride.

The Cry of a forgoten Voter
To win an election means the majority of the people in all polling centers voted in favor of the winner. It may also mean;
- Voters believed and trusted that the resources they are entitled to them will be well sourced, managed and distributed equally without fear or favor of whosoever through you the politician.
- Voters believed in Your abilities of approach to the plights people are faced with.
- People believed that through you those places whose children study on the shades of trees will get classrooms
- Voters believed that through you those places whose mothers deliver on the road sides or die because of delivery complications get a nearby dispensary to access maternal services.
- Voters believed that the sick who are carried by wheelbarrows and safari beds to dispensaries which are over 10kms away who sometimes succumb to death and die on the road sides get a good road network and a nearby dispensary.
- Voters believed that those children who travel over 7kms to get education get a nearby school to access education.
- Voters believed that those youth who have tarmacked for years for lack of enabling environment to give them jobs get fertile working environment where the youth can explore their potentials to their fullest. that the youth becomes a resource and not a burden to the society.
- Voters believed that the elderly whose services and leadership was enjoyed by many should be supported in their old age to counter the challenges which comes with old age.
- Voters believed that people with disabilities and less fortunate people in the society are also catered for.
- Voters believed that the fundamental rights of everyone in the society are heard and protected.
"the vehicle you are driving i may not drive but please give me education
The house you live in i may not live but please give me food
The type of food you eat i may not eat but please give me accessible medical services
The water you drink i may not drink but please drill me a bore hole or a dam
The post you hold i may not get there but create for me an enabling environment
The security you have i may not have but please give me a hope and assurance to live tomorrow".
Our politicians- we held you responsible for the pledges you pledged the electorates only to forget and varnish.
Our politicians - we held you responsible for any pledge which came out of your mouths only to divert to other places.
Our politicians - when you were campaigning you said everything, but now you are unreachable and not ready to go back to electorates and address their plights and sort the possible and impossible.
Our politicians - if you pledged any of the above to your electorates and you have done completely nothing,God is watching and your time is coming.Better promise one which you can accomplish than many which will never be done...
......a leader can be in leadership for a year and brings great change to the lives of people...leadership which can be felt by even unborn....a leader don't need hundred years to bring change!....i wonder if our leaders are ready to die with us!..Leaders,change our societies and you will have change yours too.
